Prerequisites
- A TikTok Business account (not a personal account)
- An app created in the TikTok Developer Portal
- App approved by TikTok with Content Posting API access
- An access token generated through TikTok's OAuth flow
TikTok Developer app review typically takes 1-3 business days. Apply early. Video uploads also require disclosure labels if the content is branded or sponsored.
Step-by-step setup
Connect your TikTok account to ClawTrust in about 10 minutes (after app approval).
Switch to a TikTok Business account
In the TikTok app, go to Settings, then Manage Account, and switch to a Business Account. This unlocks API access and analytics features.
Create an app in the TikTok Developer Portal
Go to developers.tiktok.com and create a new app. Select the Content Posting API and Video List products. Submit your app for review.
Configure permissions and get approval
Request the video.publish, video.list, and comment.list scopes. TikTok reviews new apps, which typically takes 1-3 business days.
Generate your API token
After approval, complete the OAuth flow to generate an access token for your TikTok Business account. Save the token securely.
Add credentials in ClawTrust
Open your agent's dashboard, go to Credentials, and click Add Credential. Select "TikTok" and paste your access token. ClawTrust encrypts it before storage.
Your agent is live on TikTok
Your agent can now publish videos, manage comments, and pull analytics. Test it by asking your agent to check your recent video performance.

TikTok Content API Token
An OAuth2 access token granting your agent permission to publish content and access analytics on your TikTok Business account.
App ID
Your TikTok Developer app's unique identifier. Used to authenticate API requests alongside the access token.
All credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and stored in ClawTrust's secrets vault. They never touch the tenant VPS directly.
