ActiveCampaign Integration

Connect your AI agent to ActiveCampaign. Automate contact management, email campaigns, deal pipelines, and site tracking directly from your agent's conversations.

What your agent can do

With ActiveCampaign credentials, your agent gets full access to contacts, automations, deals, and tracking data.

Contact management

Create, update, search, and segment contacts. Your agent can tag contacts, update custom fields, and manage list memberships automatically.

Email automation

Trigger automation sequences, add contacts to campaigns, and monitor email engagement metrics like opens and clicks.

Deal pipeline

Create deals, move them through pipeline stages, update values, and assign owners. Your agent keeps your sales pipeline current.

Site tracking

Access site tracking data to understand visitor behavior. Your agent can use page visits and events to qualify leads and trigger follow-ups.

Form management

Retrieve form submissions, manage form integrations, and process new leads that come in through your ActiveCampaign forms.

Prerequisites

Before you connect, make sure you have the following.

  • An ActiveCampaign account (Lite, Plus, Professional, or Enterprise)
  • Your API URL and API Key from Settings > Developer
  • A ClawTrust agent on any plan (Starter, Pro, or Enterprise)

Step-by-step setup

Copy your API key from ActiveCampaign and add it to your agent.

1

Open ActiveCampaign settings

Log in to your ActiveCampaign account. Navigate to Settings > Developer. Your API URL and key are displayed on this page.

2

Copy your API URL and key

Copy both the API URL (your account-specific endpoint, e.g., https://yourname.api-us1.com) and the API Key shown on the Developer settings page.

3

Note your API URL domain

Your API URL contains your account subdomain. You will need to set the allowed domain in ClawTrust to match this URL (e.g., *.api-us1.com or your custom domain).

4

Add to ClawTrust

In your agent's dashboard, go to Credentials > Add Credential. Select "API Key (Bearer)", paste your key, and set the allowed domain to match your ActiveCampaign API URL.

Credential details

Enter these values when adding the credential in ClawTrust.

FieldValue
Credential TypeAPI Key (Bearer)
API KeyYour ActiveCampaign API key from Settings > Developer
Header FormatApi-Token: your-api-key
Allowed Domains*.api-us1.com (or your custom API URL domain)

Credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and stored on your agent's dedicated server. They never leave your infrastructure. The allowed domains restriction ensures your agent can only use these credentials with ActiveCampaign endpoints.

Example actions

Here is what your agent can do once the integration is live.

Add a new lead to a nurture sequence

Your agent creates a contact in ActiveCampaign with the lead's details, adds them to your "New Lead" list, and triggers the welcome automation sequence.

Update a deal stage after a sales call

Your agent moves the deal to the "Proposal Sent" stage, updates the deal value, adds a note with call highlights, and notifies the assigned rep.

Segment contacts by engagement

Your agent queries site tracking data and email engagement scores, then tags high-engagement contacts for your sales team to prioritize.

Process a form submission

When a contact submits a form, your agent retrieves the submission data, creates or updates the contact record, and starts the appropriate follow-up automation.
